It was time to go out and buy some new Shampoo & Conditioner a few weeks back and I like to change up my normal hair routine as I think if you use the same duo all the time it stops working in the desired way. So off to the shops I went, looking for the same type that I generally always look for, for ‘dry hair‘, I also look for offers and all of the L’Oreal duos were buy one get one free. I have highlighted blonde hair, so my hair has the typical lack of moisture and not a great amount of shine unfortunately. Now I am not sure how new to the market this is but I think its about a year old or so, so clearly I didn’t really look very hard before but then again I have become a bit of one or two brand buyer just switching between different products in their ranges.
Now I am picky… surprise, I never think shampoos and conditioners really do what they say on the tin as such and are all kind of samey but I was pleasantly surprised with these.
Pros – Contains Royal Jelly a natural product from the honey bee and is believed to have healing properties, Omega 6 which can actually help promote hair growth and repair, is for dry hair, smells like honey, leaves your hair silky smooth, really clan feeling hair, hair is easy to style after, locks in moisture.
Cons – The conditioner contains Mineral Oil derivative of Crude Oil (Petroleum) used as a cutting agent to lubricate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate which is in about 90% of shampoos but can cause skin irritation (this is how it lathers on your hair), Fragrance is in both – this can again cause irritation as its synthetic.
I really like this duo, my hair craves so much moisture and these gave it that. Some people seem to say it has left a residue on their hair after but it didn’t for me. I loved the less creamy texture and more jelly like liquid to change up the routine of normal duos i found it less heavy one the hair and easier to rinse out.
I do however think people will sometimes overlook this product as its packaging is golden, brown haired people may think its aimed at blondes if they don’t take a closer look but all you really need is a dry fro like me. They also do a hair mask which I think I will be purchasing I the hope is has the same effects as these two have.
What are your best hair care duos or tips to help dry hair ?
