Hey you lovely lot! Sorry I haven’t posted in about a week I have had a hectic time and with my blog getting its new design by the lovely Serena my normal posting has not been happening as planned. As you my or may not know from my slightly jealous tweets my mum and dad went to Dominican Republic for two weeks, I mean I know I’m going in November but still. Also while they were there Jonny was in Spain so it was just me all by myself at home, thankfully my sister and my brother-in-law invited me to go spend the Bank Holiday weekend with his family in Ross on Wye and Droitwich which was lovely.
The weather was a bit poor but we had a great weekend exploring the town of Ross and getting to go into the cutest little bakeries where I must add I had the most delicious cake,it was a toffee slice and is by far the best cake I have ever had, and for a big cake lover that is a huge statement to make. The little town had the most intriguing bric-a-brac and antique shops nestled down the little old fashioned high-street. On the bank holiday Saturday we also headed to Symonds Yat. Here we went to the butterfly zoo, played in the giant maze and went to play mini golf but the heavens opened far to much for my liking and I hid in the car with the girls while the boy carried on.
I oddly enough had never been to a butterfly zoo before it was so humid and warm inside it was though rather pleasant considering outside was so grim. It was great to take photos although the humidity keep steaming up my lens. What was lovely was capturing the moment my sister had a butterfly sat on her baby bump.
Cute huh? So bank holiday weekend was one filled with mounds of food, luckily enough I maintained the weight I had lost and not managed to pile it all back on. We got to play boardgames one being ‘quirkle’ one I had never played that but its rather like an extreme version of doiminos and scrabble. It was lovely to see my brother in laws family seeing as I hadn’t seen them in well over a year and some not since their wedding in 2012. What made the weekend extra special was that i got to feel my niece or nephew kick for the first time which was pretty crazy.
If you check out my instagram lemonaidlies you can find pictures of the maze and some little shops that I took on my phone.
I hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend, I would love to know what you got up too?
