So the weekend before last I was kindly invited to Brighton On The Beach … 15 bloggers were invited to be VIPs for the night and well everything was certainly covered to make us feel just that.
I got the train straight from work to Brighton and met Michelle from Daisy Butter at the station where we hopped in a taxi down to the sea front. We were taken to a private area where we would later watch the film Alpha Papa on a big screen on the beautiful beach at night. The event in itself i free and is open to the public screening films each day for a few weeks of the year.
We got to know one another and also got the opportunity to meet the star of Alpha Papa himself Steve Coogan. We had a few drinks and I was in my element with a chili cheese dog and fries from Meat Liquor which was not only huge but blooming delicious too.
We sat and watched the film with bag of popcorn before heading back to our hotel for a pamper evening. We were lucky enough to be treated to lots of lush bits to try out while snacking on cakes and treats and sipping prosecco. We were treated to our very own personalised dressing gowns with our blog names on the back which was so thoughtful and a perfect touch.
After a rather sound night sleep in the Ibis hotel, one that I had never stayed in before we met as a group for an all you can eat type breakfast laid out continental style with your full english, fruits, cereal & yogurts etc all in their own little areas and once again I had a good variety to give myself a good start to the day.
Then unfortunately some of the girls had to head off but the rest of us went to The Painting Pottery Cafe a short walk away and enjoyed a crafty afternoon of pottery painting the girls in there were so accommodating bringing us drinks and giving us the chance to snack on some more cupcakes in between painting . My favourite part of the weekend was getting crafty it was really fun to feel creative and like I was, I guess achieving something you know when you were at school and the feeling of sheer amazement when your little crafty idea comes to life and you feel proud… that was me gleaming as if I had created a masterpiece.
They let us pick what we wanted to decorate and showed us how to do it, I picked a simple bowl with a simple design of two tone greens. I saw a smaller bowl on the table with a lovely design and tried to give mine the same vibe… Came out slightly differently but I still really liked it. They posted it out to me too in record time and by the next Wednesday it was at my house.
So a big thank you to On The Beach for hosting the even and Epiphany and Fiona from FiFi Mcgee for putting this all together and giving us a fab time, I had an amazing weekend and a big thank you for the very generous goody bag and personalised dressing gown.
