So be prepared for a little picture heavy post today but what can I say when I was kindly invited to attend the launch event of Duck & Dry, it was an evening of blow-dries, prosecco, nibbles of popcorn and little duck cake pops and chatting with lots of lovely people.
Duck & Dry is a newly opened boutique up-do and blow dry bar in Chelsea, London. It doesn’t do colour or cuts even though they do the occasional trim in one of their packages. They specialise in making you look fabulous and creating the perfect look for you by allowing you to choose a look from their styles guide, sitting back with a glass of prosecco that they have on tap (I need one of them in my house) and having a real relax!
The hole place is stunning, mixing blues, pinks white and the sleek smooth concrete to create an upbeat fresh and inviting feel just from the outside you can tell its completely different to anything around. Unlike your normal hairdressers you can wait at the bar have a chat and a coffee or read a magazine but… did I mention there is prosesso on tap? The night was in partnership with Wahanda as they are launching with them too and if you keep reading to the end there is a little surprise for you to enjoy too thanks to them.
I sat with Martha a lovely lady who helped organise the event from Imagination PR and with her help I picked what style I would like from the choices in the book. I went with beach waves as I have always wanted to be able to create them myself and thought it was the perfect opportunity to see how it is done. If you head over to my instagram @lemonaidlies you can see the end result that the lovely team did for me.
The whole space was filled with attractive and pretty things, from the little bags of popcorn to the stunning rose arrangement. Everywhere you looked was fascinating and so unlike any salon I had been in before. They made you feel so welcome and everyone was super friendly, while I didn’t get the chance to meet Yulia Rostorm the founder and ceo as my hair takes forever to dry. I did have a lovely chat with Snowden Hill who is the creative director and he was the most inviting person, he was serving drinks when we arrive and helping out his team in any way he could and I can only imaging how fun he is to work for.
At the end of the night we were kindly given a goodie bag each of amazing hair care and styling bits to take home including an amazing back styling/dressing out brush from Kent Salon in a hard shell case!
Will you be heading to Duck & Dry?
