Makeup Revolution has been one of the hottest makeup brands to hit the market in years, its so affordable yet they don’t cut the quality which makes it so appealing. Over the next couple of weeks you will see a few posts featuring them and some of their new releases on my blog because when they made the promise that they will keep bringing new and innovative and blooming down right exciting stuff to the market they didn’t lie. So to kick of the halloween fever I will start with the ‘Give Them Nightmares Palette*’ When this landed on my doorstep I couldn’t wait to test them all out, a pallet full of deep and real autumnal and winter-esque shades. It was love at first sight! I have been wanting to go out of my normal comfort zone of the browns and neutrals a little more recently and this was a great way to start, nothing to overbearing but a great mix of earthy yet powerful tones.
The palette features 18 shades the top two rows are 12 shimmer shades and the bottom 6 are matte giving the the option to pick and choose and to take your look from day to night. It’s also is a great experimental palette for halloween as not everyone wants to go all out when it comes to makeup and costume. Creating a well put together eye can change a whole look which is exactly what this palette can do. I played around with it and created a Poisson ivy style look but I wasn’t too sure my skills were up to scratch for posting on the blog just yet.
All of them have fitting names for the palettes theme and from top left to bottom they are: whos there, danger coming, lethal, pretty zombie, bump in the night, poisonous, lawless, the hunger, i am watching you, beyond the night, wicked, friday 13th. And the matte are: white noise, elm street, ash, boo, depravity and darkness.
As a lover of Wicked the musical the dark emerald green ‘Wicked’ is a firm favourite of mine but pretty zombie is a real wow shade, a blue and purple shimmer mixed makes blue eyes really pop. All of them are really pigmented and easily blend/build-able which I like.
Here they are swathed this is the shimmers from right to left.
And the mattes from right to left.
Have you tried this palette, let me know if you’ve created any looks with it i’d love to see them!?
