A little while back Burberry yes the high end fashion and beauty brand decided to do a little Twitter shindig, offering you the chance to try one of their lipsticks completely free, thats right no strings attached. I was eager as ever to get my little polished paws on one too! I have lusted after some of their offerings for a long as I can remember but I am always a little reluctant to splash out straight away without trying stuff first. Here was the perfect opportunity to give a shade of my choosing (from 4 on offer) a whirl.
I went for Nude Pink No.05 a simple subtle peachy pink nude that just like its gorgeous packaging was adorned in their signature Burberry check print. I think thats one thing that gets me, embossed makeup that shows how luxurious and elegant a product can be really draws my magpie eyes instantly too them. Out of the four shades on offer this one was instantly my favourite I did like Military Red too but I tend to only wear red in winter so this for me gave me the chance to try Burberry’s offering in a shade that I can wear all year round.
So how did this come about? Well back in March (I was late on the band waggon) you may have seen on Twitter a hashtag floating around #BurberryKisses the principle of the campaign is that you get sent a link by another beauty lover to claim your free sample then you can send it on (up to 5 times) to give others the chance to get one too. Amazing huh! I mean look at it its teeny tiny at 1g but it is impeccable, it is just an identical replica scaled down of their full priced lipsticks usually £25.
The idea was to get people exactly like me who want all the high end products but are weary of splashing the cash to give it a go and convince you its worth spending your hard earned money on. Have they done that? I think so yes because the quality and sheer beauty of this has swung me, I would at the drop of a hat buy this in the full size. Its hydrating and has the most stunning hint of sparkle from it that catches the light on your lips it really is a beautiful shade.
My only issue… I wish they sold the minis so I can try out every shade in the range (25 in total) and keep them in my clutch on an evening out
Did you get a Burberry Kisses Sample? What shade is you pick?
