A while back I won yes won one of these nifty little devices. I had been after a Clarisonic for ages but at £179 for the one I wanted I couldn’t justify spending that out and was planing to see how much they were on my next USA trip. Then I got this beauty the Clinique Sonic System that comes in at £100 cheaper for £79 which is a big big difference but I do have to admit this is a lot more basic than the Clarisonic but that does not mean its not working wonders for me.So it needs an initial charge of 24 hours to get it going but after that it can last for a good months worth of use daily. I use this for 1 minute on my face morning and night but I have now worked my way up to that so start off slow and build up to find out what works best for you it has an automatic shut off so you know how much time they recommend any way which helps. In the morning I use it simply with a foaming cleanser and find it gets my skin awake and rejuvenated it has the ability to really get into those slightly harder to reach places like the corners of your nose which is what the green area of the brush is for. Being slightly angled its great to work the cleanser in the harder areas where dirt really hides. I then use a circular motion on the rest of my face avoiding my delicate eye areas as the bristles are too hard and exfoliating for this area you don’t want to aggravate the more delicate under eye skin.
At night my routine also now includes this, I take my makeup of as normal and then use this as my middle step to really get all the dirt and grime my face has had to put up with though the day. It helps also get off any excess makeup left in the pores and if you only wear something such as suncream it even tackles that. I also love that it is fully waterproof so you can rinse it off under the tap or if your in a morning rush use in the shower and become a multi tasking queen.
This is the standard brush head that it comes with and I have been loving it and they need to be repurchased every few months. Additional purifying cleansing heads can be purchased for £20 each. Now while I have been using this and loving it I want to try the Anti Blemish Solutions Deep Cleansing Brush head next also £20. While I have see such a difference in my skin its reduced redness and evened out my skin tone I am prone to blemishes in my T-Zone in particular and this one helps target the areas you have issues with and unclogs the pores even more which for me can’t be a bad thing.
I love that this is now part of my skin care routine its easy and breezy after use I pat dry with a towel to take off any excess water then leave to dry over the sink. For me this is the perfect holiday tool as my skin becomes clogged up with nasties and suncream all combined and with one full charge I can get a holidays usage out of it no problem. So if you’re after a cheaper alternative and want to dip your toes into the sonic brush water I think this is a great way to get going.
Have you tried this or any other sonic brush? Would you buy one?
