Just before I moved a little surprise package landed on my doorstep 4 little items all packaged up… I know you can only see 3 but thats because the red lipstick was melted in the tube. Though I think I will depot it and make it into a tinted balm! However these 3 are great summer essentials so i thought I would do a little post and first impressions of them.
This is the W7 Jumbo Blusher Brush* RRP £5.95 Its a really soft synthetic haired brush and by George its massive. I doubt I will use it for its stated purpose of ‘blusher’ but why I think this is a summer essential is for what I will be using it for. In the summer when my legs are out I like to add a little shimmer to my shins this helps elongate the leg as although i’m tall my legs are rather short and doing this creates a bit of an illusion, this brush will be perfect for doing that so I am really excited to give it a whirl on holiday.
Next is the W7 Power Puff* I could only find the price of this on eBay for £3.99 or you can find 24 of them for wholesale… I like the name of this as it just reminds me off the lilac power-puff girl. I own a few beauty blender sponges and have loved my real techniques one for a while but this is my only tear dropped shaped one. This one works in the same way though in the sense that you run it under water and use it damp while applying your foundation etc. I think this one is a great size and for me in the summer I use very little foundation so getting a cleanly applied application of my bb cream or tinted moisturiser is essential and if this works like my others its a great addition to my collection.
I’ve left my favourite until last, this is the W7 Hollywood Bring & Glow Duo Highlighter and Bronzer * I could only find it on Amazon but its only £2.50 there. Now without jumping the gun or making it out to be as good as it I will say this is a pretty good dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Film star Bronze & Glow not only is the name vaguely related but the embossed detail in the powders is also very similar. Both are used to help define and sculpt the hollows of the cheeks and highlight the cheek bones. However while the formula is similar its not the same the W7 one is a lot more shimmery and I wouldn’t use the bronzer to contour in any way. Its more of a product to add ontop of your contour and looks great with a tan, as you can see below the highlighter is a lovely gold tone also and a little goes really far.
It its a very light and velvety powder which is nice and applies on the skin smoothly. I do not however like the packaging, it isn’t well put together and I feel its a little cheap looking but thats fine for the price i’m not expecting the Charlotte Tilbury packaging I just think this one is far too busy. You can see why this though is a great summer essential and a hightstreet alternative to the rather expensive CT one which is £49 its a rather large saving if you’re on a budget.
What do you think of these W7 essentials for summer? What are your summer essentials?
