Last week I was lucky enough to be invited along the the launch of a rather lovely new brand called Bagsy, an effortless capsule beauty collection of multi tasking must-haves. A new British brand that is as they say, easy-to-us & easy-to-choose. They did their research throughly and found out the staples a woman has in her handbag, be that her favourite colour or what she would rather have instead. The whole range is beautifully packaged with the packaging complimenting the shade of the product inside each has its own style and quirky quote to pick you up in that mid day makeup slump. All of them have expert formulas so while everything is under £20 you will feel a million bucks as they have not skimped on quality one bit. I was luck enough to see all the products at the lovely launch at Ham Yard hotel, but I was also kindly given some to take home and try and i’ve popped them all below.
Instantly this number caught my eye, it may as well have called my name across the room this is the Lip Velvet in Spinning Plates £12 – This is me in a lip shade its a lovely pink nude and dries matte. It has a velvet soft texture and stays put through most of the day I only needed one touch up after eating! The packaging makes it perfect for gifting especially at christmas with its hanging loop you could brighten anyones christmas tree. There are 3 other shades in the Lip Velvet range Rush Hour (a bold red), No Frills (a sublet peachy pink) & Living the Dream (a party pink).
Not only does the packaging adorn inspirational and uplifting quotes the bronzer also does. Anyone else not want to use it to keep its perfectness in tact? This is their Ray of Sunshine Bronzer £18 (its currently £12 as an introductory offer) it comes in a beautiful tiffany blue pouch that keeps the inside of your makeup bag clean and tidy at all times. I have the shade Medium Dark but it also comes in Light Medium so you have one to suit all skin tones. I love this as its a matte bronzer and this makes it wearable on the whole face without looking like Edward from twilight when the sun shines!
To pair with your bronzer is the Kabuki Brush £15 again it comes with the beautiful drawstring pouch so no excess fall out anywhere bar inside the bag so you wont ruin your bag. It is incredibly soft and seamlessly blend powder or bronzer, it fits perfectly into the palm of your hand so no lugging around your brush collection.
They have a rather revolutionary product in their range too in the shape of this Wonder Wand £18 one pencil, 2 products so double to benefits. A concealer and highlighter in one use the concealer to hide pimples, imperfection and use for your mid day touch up on any eye bags that are working their way through. Then highlight best on the cheekbones, cupids bow, bridge of the nose and brown bone.
Bagsy have through of it all and you can see why in this product its their Beautiful Eyes in Caffeine Fix £14 one of 4 shades and all come with their own sharpener that is exactly the right size for the pencil. Each has a wear of up to 24 hours and provides a perfect wash of colour either isolated or blended out. It has a light and creamy texture but dries to a long-lasting finish that is day to day life proof. This is a lovely coffee brown thats the perfect mink shade the others are Pearly bird (a pearl perfect for the inner corners), The Big Smoke (a dramatic deep grey/black) & Take the Plunge (a daring blue shimmer).
Another perfect present hanging in a mini panettone style box houses the perfectly formed Pretty Cheeks Blusher £16 it comes in two shades this is the Velvet Rose but it also come in Velvet Coral for me thats perfect a pink cheek int he winter and a coral in the summer as i find it compliments the change in my skin colour. The plastic housing make sit easy to carry and no smashed blusher in your bag. You can blend these out for a sublet look or build for an intense pop making them transitional too for day to night.
Every woman has a lip balm lurking in the depts of her bag but while I love vaseline I don’t like putting my finger in the pot and chapsticks often look unsightly and dull. This though the lovely Lip Cocoon £7 will rid you of that ugly tube and you will be proud to pamper you lips in public this comes in tow varieties Raspberry and Lemon and yes they both smell like their names which is sweet and sublet and compliments it perfectly. These currently aren’t available on feel unique but they will be stocking it soon and in other stockists. They are hydrating and leave your lips protected from the elements, lemon adds a sublet sheen and slight shimmer and raspberry ands a sublet tint of colour.
A dinky chubby lip crayon, yes please! Wow Lips £12 another 4 shade range has something for all pouts. These give a glossy colour that packs a punch, hugs the lips and has a real comfort factor. This is the shade Killer Heels (a punchy red) that is fantastic for winer for me, Cocktail Hour (a red/orange zest), Ready to Wear (a deep sultry plum) & Happy Days (a perky pink).
The band doesnt stop at makeup it knows in our bags we house other essentials like dry shampoo! I mean 5 odd years ago I was using talc to fix my hair in that time of need but the explosion of dry shampoo means its versatile and not just for greay roots it adds volume and texture too. However have you ever seen a really pretty bottle of dry shampoo, you have now! This is the Hair Wonder £5 so not pricey at all, it is fresh and subtly scented a very very pretty. They also had a good old Heavenly Hand Cream £6 in their range I don’t have that but got to try it at the launch and its lovely it is the same scent as the dry shampoo and is easily absorbed into the skin meaning you can apply pick up your bag and go.
So what do you think of Bagsy? Would you buy it for yourself or a gift for a girlfriend?
