Brows frame your face, or so they say and well whoever came up with that line was a very knowledgable person. For me that statement could not be more true. I love affair my with brows has not always been so positive though we started off well come my mid teens lets just say the thinner the better or so I thought and looking back my hacking and yes although I am ashamed to say not just over plucking but shaving of my brows has left me traumatised and still to this day trying to get the ‘on point’.
When I saw pictures from my 18th and realised how badly framed my face looked and also angry that no one had told me for a good few years I looked like a naked mole rat I knew it was time to bite the bullet and grow them out and this was no easy task I will tell you 4 years on they still are not quite there and while Benefit Browzings was good for a while when this duo entered my life oh hallelujah my brow game stepped right up sista! I had seen so much hype around Anastasia DipBrow that I knew I needed a little pot in my stash and for the last 6 months its been a daily staple.
I use medium brown and apply with the ABH large synthetic duo brown brush together they cost me £30 from Cult Beauty which may seem a lot for a brow product and brush but after 6 months of daily use i’ve hardly dented even a quarter of the pot so its a product that lasts. Medium brown is a good match however when I am slightly paler it can be a little to bold so I may get the light brown just to blend it out better throughout the year. It wrks with my hair well as while yes I am pretty blonde I have brown throughout especially underneath my hair so it doesn’t leave me with a huge caterpillar brow.
Light flicks with the brush allow me to give my left brown more or an arch and fill in my slightly more spars right brow evening them out and making them the perfect sisters not pair, as no brows are identical.
I wore this on holiday and the claim of being smudge proof and waterproof held up pretty well don’t get me wrong its not completely in tact after a day of heat, pool, water rides etc. but the shape stays and your brows still look shapely and framed. Unlike when I was wearing powder the gel in this is the perfect balance between a wax and a powder it doesn’t run yet doesn’t clump either. It coats the hairs and allows you to blend with them seamlessly which is what I personally am after these days.
My brows though do have a mind of their own so while having the perfect shape is great having them sand up and poke about half way through the day is a nightmare so I decided to give brow gel a go, where have I been. I tried a few before but this however is the one I use the clear L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper but it comes in different shades to as it can be used with other products like i do or alone if your blessed with fab brows just one that need to be tamed. Its only £5.99 at boots and a little gives you an all day hold meaning finally until I wipe away my makeup at the end of the day my brows stay looking as they did when I waled out the door that morning. Hello power duo!
What is your brow routine? Have you tried either?
