I am by no means a skincare expert and in all fairness I have only really considered how important skincare is in the last few years but as I get older the need to have healthy cared for skin has become more and more important too me. Todays post is featuring a brand I have been loving since I purchased all of these goodies back in September when I was in the US and since then I have used Kiehl’s everyday.
I had been waiting to try the Midnight recovery Concentrate for ages, I had used a number of face oils but some just didn’t hydrate my skin as much as I wanted. I had high hopes for this and the numerous reviews I had read on it meant there I was in Duty Free in Orlando making the decision just to go for it. I have been using this every night just a few drops covers my whole face, though I concentrate on my t-zone first as I feel it is my ‘problem area’. It claims to restore skin which I don’t think it does but it certainly helps relax my skin and look more replenished in the morning It’s filled to the brim with good-for-your-skin ingredients like Squalane (a signature Kiehl’s ingredient), Omega-6 fatty acids, Evening Primrose Oil, and other essential oils including Lavender (no parabens or mineral oils to be found in this). Squalane is a highly refined moisturising oil derived from an olive. It’s very silky, easily absorbed and known to be particularly good at mixing with the natural oils of your skin and I do find that this absorbs well and leaves my skin soft and glowy.
I have the 50ml bottle which I think cost around $45 a little cheaper than here in the UK but from use I think it is worth it! It is a luxury product in look and feel from packaging to product and for someone like me with dry skin it helps a lot with not drying it out at all. I also made a last minute decision while by the counter to pick up a little set to try out some more from Kiehl’s it was the 3 steps to ultra moisture which contains:
- Ultra Facial Cleanser – a mild cleanser specially formulated with a sugar-derived glycoside foaming agent to thoroughly cleanse skin and remove make-up, without stripping skin of its natural oils.
- Ultra Facial Toner – a mild, yet effective alcohol-free toner that gently removes surface debris and any remaining residue while providing hydration and comfort to skin.
- Ultra Facial Cream – a 24 hour hydrator, helps reduce skin’s moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air. Skin is visibly well-balanced, particularly in harsh weather conditions.
As a little Duty free perk a midnight recovery eye cream also came in the pack along with a handful of samples.
I have only been using this set for a few weeks so haven’t had the full effect just yet as I like to finish something before starting something else as I don’t like switching up my skincare a lot. A simple 3 step regime that is defiantly helping my skin recover from winter. As I said my skin is dry in fact its positively parched so anything that was a steal at $26.50 and said ultra moisture I couldn’t pass up the chance.
This brand has really made an impact on me in terms of its results and just because of its ethics and longevity on the market. It is pricey but I think totally justifiable and this us why you should invest your pennies into a little Kiehls skincare.
