If you know me at all you will know how good mine and Jo Malone’s relationship is. It’s been a long affair… over around the last 5 or so years I have amassed a lot of beautiful candles, perfumes, lotions and oh so magical potions form for me, the epitome of beautiful British brands. It all started with my sister who got me something when I must of been 17 maybe 18 to try and since then my love for the brand has never dwindled.
If you look back on old posts I have spoken about some of the delights in my stash a few times from the Sweet Almond and Macaroon candle to the Fragrance Combining set, I have also blogged about the scent that is a constant on my dressing table, Peony and Blush Suede. So when my sister got me the candle in the very same scent this christmas just passed I was so happy!
Apart from my YSL Black Opium this is my go to scent and it outrightly replaced my Chanel Chance from a first pick ages ago so having the candle to accompany it really excites me. Though I haven’t burnt it just yet as without sounding like a right old sop and a bit of a looser I want to save it to burn in the home Jonny and I are looking to buy this year. I want my first night in the house we’ve brought to smell like home a scent I wear and makes me feel like me, there is something about the idea of that that comforts me even if I do sound a tad mad.
The scent is so luxurious and while fresh due to the peonies the crisp red apples give it a bit of bite, pardon the pun there. While the blush suede adds depth and elegance. This size candle of 200g retails at £44 and has a burn time of up to 45 hours while is as all Jo Malone stuff on the steeper side of things but everything from there is so undoubtedly worth it.
For me it is a real bedroom scent, it’s easy to have burning and doesn’t give you a headache, the smell is subtle yet uplifting and the perfect spring into summer scent. If you wee looking to give this as a gift I would also recommend
engraving that they offer online and in some stores as it really does add that personal touch!
