I am a self confessed sun worshiper, I adore laying in the sunshine on holiday and just soaking up those rays. However the older I have become the more skin conscious I have grown to be, no more are the days of tanning in factor 4 oil! I now know the risks and am a lot more cautions when sunbathing. However living in the UK the sun we get here is limited and when I am left still needing a little glow in the midst of my holiday blues I love to use a little fake tan.
Me and fake tan used to never be far apart but to be honest I do have a love hate relationship with it as there was a time when being range was a desirable look, now for me I can embrace just that healthy sun-kissed look. Trying to find a fake tan that doesn’t streak, smell or make my new crisp white sheets look dirty and dishevelled is a chore in it’s self. I have found two fake tans that have left me feeling, looking and smelling fresh and also leave my sheets a white as they were destined to always be. Those being Bondi Sands Liquid Gold and this new beauty! This is the new Vita Liberata Marula Oil* it’s a self tanning dry oil with SPF 50 currently on 3 for 2 at boots meaning its slightly high £39 (100ml) price tag is well well worth a trip.
This is the worlds first dry tanning oil with SPF 50 sun protection and its formula is great too it’s unique macro molecule chemical SPF won’t penetrate the skin layers, while the anti age extracts repair and nourish skin. It isn’t greasy and one application lasts up to 10 days. I have had it on for 4 days and I only used a light coating as this tan is build-able, which is great so you can get to a shade that is right for you and also lets you get a little darker with ease.
It is really hydrating and gives you such a glowy look as it does have a little shimmer to it. It also applies easily – I use my tanning mitt but for my pre tan prep I shower, exfoliate and then apply in the usual circular motion. I am really intrigued to try this on holiday as it will tan you while actually tanning in the sun all while staying protected. For some people who have fair skin and can easily get burnt in the sun this is literally going to be a holy grail I think. It is gradual and natural looking and its such a high factor you really are being well protected from those oh so harmful rays if you’re not cautious enough.
Everything about this is luxurious and well thought out from the thick glass bottle and embossed rose golden writing on a muted blush pink box to the just plan gorgeous branding and classiness. Also no biscuit smell here, it has a fresh lemongrass scent which makes a big difference, I am all for cake but I hate that lingering fake tan smell and I do think these days avoiding that smell is something a tan must do, I mean tanning products have come such a long way and it is possible to make them smell less like a treat to have with your cup of tea. If you’re looking to get an all year round glow this is for you! I know as I said it is pricey but i have found a little goes quite a long way if you use it like me and just apply a thin layer for a glow. If you do use this for a deeper tan I don’t know how long a bottle will last. Everything all in you are sure to see this pop up in my next favourites post because it’s one of the best tanning products on the market.
Have you tried anything from Vita Liberata, would you try this?
