Oh winter, the havoc you wreak on my skin! Every year winter comes around and my skin becomes dull, dry and it’s an up and down mess of breakouts. this year however I have been using some new bots on my skin from Jurlique and I though I should share 3 of the best products from them that really do help to combat the winter skin blues. Be weary they are not cheap but I as I get older am a firm believer that skincare is something you should invest in, you skin is forever so you want to preserve it looking and feeling fabulous for as long as possible. I have been using these Jurlique products as a mini 3 step process and they are the Purity Specialist Compress Concentrate* (£32), Intense Recovery Mask* (£52) and the Nutri-Define Restorative Hydrating Emulsion* (£72)
To start I have been using the Purity Specialist Compress Concentrate. I tend to use this once a week on a Sunday. It is really good for cleaning out the pores and purifying the skin, I begin with a bath so my pores are open and then once I have jumped out I pop the kettle on and once boiled fill a bowl half full and pop two capfuls of the concentrate into the bowl. Immerse a muslin cloth or flannel into the bowl and then squeeze out all the excess water and place on your face, I repeat 3-4 times holding it on my face for about 30 seconds each time. No matter how much you clean your skin I still feel like there is a makeup build up in my pores that wont shift but this really draws out all of that, leaving my skin feeling revitalised and really fresh.
Next step is the Intense Recovery Mask it is a clay mask and my oh my I love a good clay mask. They are my favourite as I feel like I can really feel them working their magic. This mask is packed with antioxidant ingredients to remove skin impurities which help soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while protecting against environmental damage all of which to be fair I am starting to notice. I may only be 23 but I can begin to notice lines around my mouth and more noticeably on my forehead. it is really easy to use, lightly with your fingers evenly spread on your face or just in areas you feel you need to target and leave for 10 mins. You then just use damp cotton pads to remove. It leaves my skin feeling a lot less tight, I don’t see any improvements in my lines but it is so hydrating especially around my nose and chin.
Last up is the Nutri-Define Restorative Hydrating Emulsion this is a product that does exactly what it says, hydrate! i have been using this daily and woah it has Biosome5 technology, perfectly hydrates, softens and restores skin without oily residue. Which for me who has has combination skin is a god send. I do apply makeup over it but it can been worn alone which in the summer I will do. I do see a difference in my lines when wearing this and it is matte so doesn’t shine and accentuate any problem areas. I do prefer to use this twice a day, two pumps being enough and it really does do the trick for me because I struggle to find a moisturiser that does hydrate my really really dry patches.
This is my current skincare routine, it is slightly different day to day but this is more of a ful once a week intense deep cleanse of the skin and I can’t fault it!
