Hello March, So hello spring! When it comes to makeup I am always after the new and the acclaimed. These often come with a hefty price tag so when HQ hair asked me to create a spring makeup look for £50* I was up for the challenge.
I picked a range of bits to create a full spring look. For me in spring I love wearing natural makeup that makes the skin look healthy and fresh. In the process I have uncovered a foundation gem that is literally a wonder product.
To create my base I picked up the EX1 invisiwear foundation, a brand I had no clue about but thought for £12.50 I will give it a go after reading a few reviews and woah this stuff is crazy! There are tons of shades to choose from but after reading the reviews I went for F100 it seems to be a really versatile shade and although it may be suited more to those with reddish undertones which I do not have it works fab as a match for me. It was an exact match, it blends really well and didn’t cake and it lasts all day. It is a more lightweight foundation but it is buildable but for a healthy spring look I really love this.
To get a real bang for your buck I picked up the PIXI Hello Rose set. A brand I adore and really want more of and this is a great way to try a few bits and at the price of £20 I think the deal is pretty good. To great a warm rosy glow I used the PIXI Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold. My love of rose gold is really never ending it seems, this mineral-based powder is the perfect touch as it adds a soft and natural looking radiance with a hint of highly pigmented colour coverage. It adds a soft shimmer but if you know me I love highlight so anything to add to the glow.
To keep in with that theme of a glowing look I used the PIXI Glow Booster in Pink Pearl. It is really lightweight and just adds your natural radiance and perfectly preps skin for further makeup. It contains iridescent pigments to impart a dewy radiant finish. I use this on my cheek bones, brow bones and cupids bow and I love the finish it gives me after just applying my foundation I feel it settles best this way.
A lipstick lover at heart more than a gloss fan, I still think this set is fab even if this is not an everyday product for me. The colour is beautiful it is the PIXI LipLift Max in Sheer Rose. It is built to give your lips a fuller look but still moisturise them. It does have a distinct minty smell/ taste though no I haven’t been eating it but I am sure you know what I mean. The shade is flattering but the whole hair in the gloss thing still makes me frustrated but if gloss is your thing it is a great one as no it does not give you huge lips but it does just give them a fuller, more defined look.
To get the warmth I picked up Bourjois Contouring Illusion Bronzer for £7.99. It has a highlighting section to you know add a little more to my already glowing face! The bronzer though is perfect. It has a slight shimmer but not too much and it smells like the Bourjois chocolate bronzer I used to have a just adore. I use if for my cheekbone definition and do the ‘3’ motion on my face to sweep across my temples and down my jawline to give a sun kissed, defined look.
To finish off my look it has to be lashes. I would pick up the blacked mascara I could find normally but I really wanted to capture that natural look where your features are just complimented. This time I went for the L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes in Brown at £9.99 I had never had a brown mascara before but it is great to still give huge fanned out lashes but not look too dramatic to compliment the look. It also works better on my bottom lashes, they are so long that black can make them look spider like this however just blends more but adds definition.
This look is really easy to re-create and came in at £50.48 for a full-face look, which is a lot more reasonable and a great way to try new products.

All these products are so pretty! Love the rose gold packaging. I always love challenges like this because it opens you up to new makeup that you might have skipped over before! I can also definitely easily get stuck in buying ONLY high-end products when there are tons of drugstore products that are just as good.
