I thought, a little roundup post that is perfect for Pinterest may be needed here so you can find every step of our journey in one spot. We spent 3 weeks travelling around The Philippines, it was our first time in South East Asia. Prepared with our rucksacks we did this for approx. £3,000pp this is including 10 fi]lights, 5 hotels and spending money for the 3 weeks. We didn’t do it normal backpacker style we did stuff a little more upmarket for our fist time visiting this corner of the globe (though we know for Thailand we can do it much cheaper this year) we got engaged yep that’s right after 8 and half years we will now be planning a wedding and it’s all here in one place to try and help you decide places to go, hotels to stay at, where to eat and what to experience while here.
What was our itinerary
Not many peolpe know but I love planning holidays infact I ahve even though about offering it as a service because without sounding my own trumpet I am pretty good at it because I love to do it. I built this trip from scratch, booked everything myself and hunted out the best deals too.
We started on the 16th December leaving from London Heathrow with a hour stop over in Muscat, Oman before heading to our first stop Manila where we stayed at the I’M hotel for 2 nights – check out our 24 hours in Manila post here.
On the 19th of December we headed to Coron for 5 nights to stay at the Two Seasons Bayside hotel – read about what we got up to in Coron.
On Christmas Eve we travelled to what was the most expensive and luxurious section of our trip which was Bohol. Staying just off Alona beach at Amorita Resort – indulge in Bohol and find out about our engagement too.
6 nights in Bohol led us onto Boracay, where we stayed for 7 nights. Arriving on the 30th December we went here for New Year at HUE Hotel – find out about how the island has changed after being closed.
To end off our trip we headed back to Manila for 1 last night before flying home which we didn’t review as we were only there for about 12 hours. We stayed at The Henry Hotel which was super cool, a colonial building with quirky decor only downside is they have charged us twice and a month on still haven’t refunded us. If you are here though do visit Greehills Mall it’s fab and the sushi there is delicious.

For us if we could change anything we would 100% visit Sigaro and El Nido too and shorten down some of our stays but that is totally up to you. We hope this helps you plan your trip to the Philippines.

Amazing! I know nothing about traveling all over the country, what a wonderful looking place to explore.
