It’s the first year with two fur babies in the house and the first time they have ever encountered a Christmas tree. Cue my fear of a fallen mess and a barrage of baubles flying round the flat. However I was pleasantly surprised when they just sat mesmerised by the lights and of course all of their presents under the tree (i’d like to pretend they know i’ve spoilt them, go with it).
Christmas is a time for family and fur-iends and these two little loves are such a joy all year round, not just at Christmas. I’m lucky that I can head over to my parents to spend time with them and these two come along and adore it as house cats the change of scenery is like a holiday home. So much love and fuss to be had over them, they could never complain.
What you have to consider though, which was something I found hugely important when getting both Alfred and Penelope who are pure-breed Ragdolls, was Pet insurance. I really felt that Petplan understood that as a pet owner you’ll have specific needs when it comes to finding the right insurance policy and you want what’s best for your pet. With over 40 years’ experience, they’re the experts and getting a quote takes just minutes.
This year, they’ve launched the fantastic Pet advent calendar where you can win great toys and gifts that will make this Christmas full of memories for you and your pets.
If you’re stuck for some last minute gifts for you purr-fect pals then how about a few of these, such as a cracker full of treats, a big box full of retro cat toys or pawsecco and truffles (cat friendly of course). I have also gone a little bit crazy this year and purchased them a cat teepee, yes I am that person and proud.
If I am honest the treats will go down, well a treat but i can only assume the lure of wrapping paper will win and they will be buried in that rather than the teepee but one can hope for cat appreciate spam for Instagram.
I am excited to be snuggled up with these two over the fest period watching films on the sofa. They are a joy and while Alfred who’s just over a year will take his little old man personality in his stride and curl up by the fire. Penelope who is 9 months will be the excitable child who’s just seen all their presents under the tree and be the Christmas cheer everyone needs.
Do you have any fury friends in your family? What do you get them for Christmas?
