When life gives you lemons, say no I want lime so I can make a Mojito! So it may be dull and gloomy outside but I want you to feel all summer ready and get in the mood for cocktail hour, not the alcoholic kind but something just as good maybe even better! I don’t drink much but I do love a cocktail when I do and one of my favourites is always a Mojito so when The Body Shop asked if I wanted to try out their new limited edition range you can see why I jumped to get involved. So below I will be giving you a little mini review of each product and giving you my top 5 tips at the end for getting #HappySkin.
Ahhh body sorbets this is the Virgin Mojito Body Sorbet* and I think of summer and sitting their eating my ice cold sorbet in the sunshine. I should start with how amazing this while range smells anyway its exactly like a Mojito but no overpowering alcoholic smell just the cool lime and mint freshness combined and this product can up it even further. If you pop this into the fridge it works as a create cooling moisturiser after a day int he sun. If you’re not in the sun though this is still amazing and sinks into the skin and leaves it soft and hydrated.
Next up is a very well know Body Shop favourite of most peoples their body butters. This Virgin Mojito Body Butter* is right up there with my favourite coconut and strawberry ones. Although I love these I tend to use my body butters more in the winter as they don’t sink into my sink as fast though i do like to use them on holiday on more dry areas due to the sun. Again pop this in the fridge for a refreshing lift or slather it on and chill out after your bath or shower.
This Virgin Mojito Body Scrub* is wonderful, little exfoliating beads that burst with that signature scent. Just like the Green Tea Ceromony range I love this. A little goes a long way and while you can feel it working its not to abrasive and harsh on your skin.
This though is my favourite from the range and is the Virgin Mojito Body Splash* its not something i’ve seen on the high-street before which makes it instantly more exciting. This is a super light fragrance that really ties the whole range together but it has more than just the benefit of smelling wonderful its also hydrating which is something that a perfume style product can’t give you especially if you’re on holiday or in the heat. As the heat distorts the smell of perfume this will not have the same issues. I found if you apply after your shower patting into the skin it lasts even better.
So to make sure you have #HappySkin this summer be sure to check out theses top 5 tips of mine:
Drink Water
I know it sounds obvious but we all so easily either forget and most of us very rarely get our recommended daily intake of water. Keep your body hydrated and you will be able to see the benefits in your skin.
Healthy Balanced Diet
By putting good stuff into your body your body will react in a good way. I’m not saying don’t sip the Mojito and have a pizza but instead just make more positive changes by cutting back not cutting out and pick things that are both delicious and good for you.
Sleep
I know its easier said than done sometimes our lives can be so busy and rushed but try and make a conscious effort to give yourself at least 8 hours sleep a night. It will help reduce so may things that you may not even notice are going on with your skin such as puffy eyes/bags. It can dull your skin, so be sure to get some shut eye and recharge your beauty batteries.
Virgin Mojito Body Sorbet*
I couldn’t miss this one off as its perfect for on the go hydration. Like I said its easy application allows you to apply and go this will be a holiday staple for me and ice cold it works perfectly like after sun/aloe gel etc to help sooth the skin. Its zesty circus scent an mint combo makes me feel like i’m in the Caribbean again.
SPF
Summer, Winter all seasons you need sun protection i even apply it to my hands all year as they are the big tell tell of your age. But your face is always exposed to UV Rays so be sure to keep your skin safe be this by having SPF in your moisturiser/foundation or just by applying SPF before as a step in your routine, just because you can’t see the sun doesn’t mean its not there.
