When I think of Vichy I think skincare initially it’s a brand I have always loved for bringing out the best in my skin and I have been loving some of their new releases in the form of the Micellar Oil & Cleansing Gel from their Purete Thermale range. I knew they did do some makeup products but I had never had the chance to give them a try until now.
I will start with the Vichy Dermablend Corrective Stick Foundation* £15 (now £10 on offer) this is a high coverage concealer and can be used by women and men to cover and conceal moderate to severe skin imperfection from acne scars to hyper-pigmentation so it has some really great coverage benefits. This stick can even cover up tattoos, yes tattoos… I am yet to try it on mine but I may see just how it lives up to that soon. Its suitable for all skin types which I like as I tend to have slightly sensitive skin especially in the areas I need to conceal i.e my under eye bags. Now this is what I am using this for and only for that and here is why. I do really like this its working wonders to brighten and conceal any darkness under my eyes as 25 Nude has a slightly pink/red set of undertones which is what you want when counteracting the colours or if you have a big spot etc. I though have a yellow tone to my skin so using this on larger areas makes me seem a little orange. Its got great staying power and lasts for up to 14 hours which is what I look for especially when I am on the go my makeup easily just disappears throughout the day and by 4pm I don’t want to look dull and tired. Another plus it is SPF 30 winner! For an all rounder I would go with 15 Opal.
Now onto the not so good (for me) note when reading this why this isn’t for me because It may work for you. This is the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation* in 25 Nude as well £18 (on offer at £12) So why don’t I like it … The colour as I said my yellow tones do not bode well with reddish pink foundations and this is a reddish pink but sadly the whole range is there are only 5 shades the same ones as the stick version but all are warmer tones where as I need cooler tones. So if you have warmer skin keep going with me as this products formula its self its really good.
The consistency is great its not to watery and not too thick it applies evenly but it does need a lot of buffing into the skin as its a high coverage product you don’t need a lot and applying on areas that don’t need as much coverage for me like the cheeks I found it can look a little cakey. This also has a great SPF 35 built in so your protected for up to 16 hours as thats how long this can last. Also if you use in conjunction with their setting powder it becomes water and perspiration resistant which for someone who may have skin troubles and doesn’t want to keep reapplying all the time would be perfect.
So would I recommend this range, yes I think its rather impressive! Would I pick this range? Maybe I like the concealer but I prefer my current one a little more. I love their skin care range so much and I can see why people would worship this range I like a little less coverage and more choice in shades.
Have you tried Vichy Dermablend? What do you think?
