Summers here and today is a glorious day and something I am really fond of this year has been eyeshadow, I have been experimenting with pallets, shades and looks. I am also branching out as I am now more willing to splurge on some high end brands. So off I went to Space NK and found myself lost in a bubble of love at the By Terry counter and there I was swatting away at the Ombre Blackstar in every shade available, then the thought can I really justify paying this for an eyeshadow when technically I can’t afford it and wow the restraint that day was that of nun.
Then on that weekly mandatory shopping trip that all adults have the fun job of this caught my eye. This is the Barbara Daly eyeshadow stick in Shimmer Sand. It had the same style packaging as OB in a stylo effect pen that twists up and down. It looks rather luxurious for the price as it is only £3 yes thats all. Barbra Daly does quality makeup and I feel it is sometimes overlooked because its just in tesco. This is a light beige/pink and on the lid gives a gentle shimmer that is long lasting throughout the day. I apply all over and smudge with my finger as it has a better fishing effect than if applied with a brush.
This also comes in ‘Shell’ a peach tone, another colour that I am comfortable with and not at all out of my comfort zone, however ‘Black Marble’ slightly intimidates me, black eyeshadow and myself don’t go I am capable of applying it in such a way I get panda eyes – never what you want. This has a gently shimmer and in the sunlight is subtle yet pretty. These will be a constant in my ever growing collection. Sadly there is not much info surrounding them but to me these are a dupe and a half and I can’t help but urge you to give them a go.
